MICHAEL BLANEY

Micheal Blaney, violinist and native of Cincinnati, received his Bachelor
of Music at the Peabody Conservatory and two Master of Music degrees from
the University of Michigan. He has given solo recitals in Colorado, Maryland,
Michigan, Louisiana, Europe and soloed with several orchestras including
the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. His teachers include Paul Primus,
Daniel Heifetz, Sylvia Rosenberg, and Paul Kantor.
His chamber music coaches include Earl Carlyss of the Julliard String
Quartet, Stephen Shipps of the Amadeus Trio, Richard Young of the Vermeer
String Quartet and the Peabody Trio. He is a member of the Cypress String
Quartet. Mr. Blaney was a member of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra
from 1993-1996 before joining the faculty of USL.
