JEFF PROSPERIE Jeff received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Louisiana State University, and his Master of Music Performance Degree from the University of North Texas. He has studied with DR. Robert Schietroma, Leigh Howard Stevens, Dr. John Rausch, Doug Howard, Ed Soph, Dr. John Wooten, Marty Hurley, and Dennis DeLucia. Mr. Prosperie has served as percussion instructor/arranger for the World Champion Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from 1990 to 1995. Mr. Prosperie has also instructed the world champion University of North Texas indoor marching percussion ensemble as well as the award winning drumline at Louisiana State University. Mr. Prosperie is currently active as an educator, clinician, adjudicator, composer/arranger, and has performed with several orchestras in the Dallas area, including extra percussionist with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. In 1992, 1994, 1996, 1997, and 1998, Mr. Prosperie served as a marching percussion adjudicator for the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. As a clinician for the Sabian Cymbal Company, Mr. Prosperie has performed at the 49th Annual Midwest Inernational Band and Orchestra Clinic, the Texas Bandmasters Association, the University of Hawaii, and many others nationally. Jeff will be performing a solo clinic at the 1999 Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Columbus, OH. As a performer, Mr. Prosperie has won the 1988 Drum Corps International World Snare Drum Competition, the 1988 Drum Corps Midwest Snare Drum Competition. He has also won the Percussive Arts Society 1988 Snare Drum Competition, and the 1995 Mock Symphony audition. Mr. Prosperie's professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Percussive Arts Society, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society. Mr. Prosperie is very happy to be returning to Cajun Country and enjoys fishing, hunting, cooking, and swimming as well as spending time with his wife, Melissa, and newborn daughter, Savannah. |
