About Us


The Visual Resource Center is located in 209 in JL Fletcher Hall and is a resource for all students enrolled in the College of the Arts. This department serves as two classrooms during weekdays and as an open lab during evenings and weekends. The Macintosh lab supports twenty-two G4 computers and offers more than ten current software programs for 2D and 3D coursework. The animation classroom houses twenty animation stations all of which run current Maya and Rhino software.

This center offers access to digital still and video cameras, digital film cameras, video and DVD projection, video editing software and hardware, slide and flatbed scanners, a slide maker, a 3D digital arm and six printers of varying quality and output sizes. In addtion, there is an extensive media collection consisting of over 400 DVD/videotapes and 100,000 slide images of art, architecture, industrial design and interior design. We offer a preview room in support and promotion of the use of this collection for both faculty and students.

The Visual Resource Center proudly offers the support of its staff of four undergraduate computer techs, two graduate students serving as web master and digital project coordinator, a full-time faculty member and a full-time director. We are all eager to assist you in your audio, visual and computer needs. The VRC staff invites you to take part in use of this multifaceted resource in the College of the Arts. We encourage
