Dear faculty,  I hope that your spring semester is going well and you are achieving the goal you set for your classes and yourself.  As I scan the articles for this eNews I am impressed with their number and quality.  Thank you for everything you do.

Many thanks to Michael Eble, our new Curator for Exhibits and Events.  The whole Festival of the Arts was one of the best and continues to grow.  Thanks to all you contributed.  I want to thank Michael McClure for setting up some of the events last semester especially the ArTech Fusion program.  That is becoming stronger and stronger as we continue to grow it.  It’s been hard because until you see it you might not “get” it!  Anyway, I thought it was fantastic.  Nick Spitzer, our honoree for the SPARK Lifetime Achievement Award was totally enthralled.  Thank you Mark DeWitt for hosting him and giving us and our students the opportunity to hear him in a couple of different ways.

We are indebted to our President and the rest of the administration for working with the State on the budget woes.  We were spared heavy cuts this spring.  Hopefully, something will be resolved to close the funding gap next academic year.  That will take some action from the legislature again during a special session that is probably going to begin in June.

Meanwhile, continue to strive to do your best and you will be rewarded with the satisfaction that your students will be better professionals, citizens and leaders in the future.

All the best,  Gordon
