Seventh Annual Beaux Arts Ball ‘FIRE’

Top Stories

On October 21st, the College celebrated our seventh annual Beaux Arts Ball. Fire was the theme and the College of the Arts was the cause. For the second year in a row we hosted it at the UL Student Union Ballroom, which continues to be great fit. The costumes and table decorations were as wonderful as ever, and a record number of our alumni, faculty, students, and supporters showed up in style to celebrate the College of the Arts. Herman Mhire, this year’s SPARK Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree gave a wonderful acceptance speech and reminded us of his history and all the great contributions he has made to the arts at UL Lafayette and the Lafayette region.

The UL Lafayette Jazz Ensemble sounded great and kept the party going with their big band sounds, while Arch Design 101 graced the floor of the ballroom displaying their mask designs.  Our silent and live auction was bigger than ever and offered all sorts of original arts, products and services. We even leapt into the world of online bidding and auctions, which helped us break previous records in attendance and raised a record setting amount of funds to support our students and faculty.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of our volunteers, sponsors, donors, and attendees. We can’t wait for next year!
