2019 Festival of the Arts

This year’s Festival of the Arts was a great success! The College of the Arts presenteda three-week Festival of the Arts this year, featuring innovative and creative work by faculty, students, and community partners at UL Lafayette. The festival ran from March 11th through March 30th, at various locations on campus and in downtown Lafayette. This year’s festival included visual art exhibitions, an opera, varied musical concerts, public lectures, and the annual SOAD fashion show. Events spanned over just about every discipline within the College of the Arts, where collaboration was a common thread. 

ArTech Fusion, the central event of the Festival of the Arts was also a great success. We saw a diverse range of talks and performances that merged, accentuated, and honored Art and technology in inspiring ways. The night culminated with a short film honoring the late Raymond Goodrich, along with his contributions and generosity to the School of Music and his influences on music education in the Acadiana region. The Goodrich Family graciously accepted the 2019 SPARK Lifetime Achievement Award.The College of the Arts SPARK Lifetime Achievement Award honors alumni and members of the community who have made great strides to advance the arts in Louisiana and across the country. 

 

 

Congratulations to all on a wonderful Festival of the Arts 2019. 

Mark your calendars for next year. The Beaux Arts Ball will be at the Student Union Ballroom on Friday October 18, 2019. ArTech Fusion will be at the ACA on Friday March 20, 2020.
