All three UL Lafayette Choirs had a busy fall semester. The Chamber Singers went on a recruitment tour to visit high schools and sing for hundreds of prospective students in Arkansas in October. During a highly successful fall concert of music based on the theme of "Water," tenors and basses from the University Chorale joined forces with the music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha to perform a joint collaboration. Choir alumni joined on stage to sing the Alma Mater together to close the concert. The three choirs then began preparations for the School of Music Christmas Concert, now in its eighth season, which featured the UL Wind Ensemble and combined choirs. At this performance, the UL Chamber Singers gave a world premiere of the piece Með gleðiraust og helgum hljóm by Icelandic composer Snorri Sigfús Birgisson. The choir was able to Skype during rehearsal with the composer live from Reykjavík during the preparation for the concert.
