Ensembles, Performances & Exhibits
In the College of the Arts, we don't want to just create great art — we want to share it with the world around us.
As a student at UL Lafayette, you'll have myriad opportunities to create, perform, and showcase your work with your fellow students and the community.
Music Ensembles & Productions
In the School of Music and Performing Arts, there are almost 20 different instrumental and vocal groups for you to join, and most are open to all majors by audition. Those range from the Pride of Acadiana Marching Band to the women's choir to the traditional music ensemble. See all of our choirs and the list of instrumental ensembles.
You can also audition for our musical stage productions, which include an opera and a Broadway-style show every year.
Theatre
Our students produce and perform one large-scale main stage production each semester. You're welcome to audition for any of the productions, and current students in theatre or dance are required to assist with costume design, set design, and other backstage production duties.

Dance
Just like theatre, our performing arts students put on one large-scale main stage dance production each semester. In the fall, all dances are choreographed by faculty; in the spring, the production is choreographed entirely by students. We often welcome professional guest choreographers, so students have the chance to interact with and build connections with established dancers.

Art Galleries & Exhibitions
Works from our students in the Department of Visual Arts are often displayed in the galleries inside Fletcher Hall, and graduating seniors have their own special exhibition at the end of each semester. Students in the School of Architecture and Design have exhibits in Fletcher Hall, as well, to showcase their master's thesis projects and projects from undergraduate design classes. The School of Architecture and Design also has a permanent exhibit at the Lafayette Science Museum in downtown Lafayette.
