Professor Brian Kelly and Printmaking Students Give Printmaking Workshop and Research at Louisiana Tech University

On October 11-13th Professor Brian Kelly along with Department of Visual Arts printmaking students attended the “5^th Annual This Printmaking Thing We Are Doing: An Undergraduate Printmaking Symposium” held on the campus of Louisiana Tech University. This symposium embraces academic undergraduate research and the enhancements that it provides to the student learning experience while expanding the intellectual vitality of the printmaking programs and undergraduate education within the State of Louisiana.

At the symposium Professor Kelly and Department of Visual Arts printmaking students, presented a printmaking demonstration covering lithographic transfer techniques associated with stone lithography.

Also, during the symposium department printmaking students presented their studio research in the annual symposium student printmaking exhibition and during an open portfolio presentation. Additionally, the students attended printmaking demonstrations covering a broad range of printmaking topics, exhibitions, and participated in a collaborative steam roll printmaking event on the last day of the symposium.

The annual “This Print Thing Were Are Doing: A Louisiana Undergraduate Printmaking Symposium” celebrates and provides
undergraduate students studying printmaking the opportunity to be part of the exciting printmaking community with in the State of Louisiana and provides them the opportunity to share their personal printmaking research, creativity, and innovation developed on their academic campuses.

The symposium was attended by faculty and students from University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Louisiana Tech University, Southeastern Louisiana University, Nicholls State University, McNeese State University, University of Louisiana at Monroe, Baton Rouge Community College, and Southern Arkansas University.
