Chan Kiat Lim, Professor of Piano Completes Residency in China

Before Christmas, Professor of Piano Chan Kiat Lim was invited to a week-long residency at South China University of Technology (SCUT). Located in Guangzhou, capitol city of Guangdong Province, SCUT is ranked among the top 10 universities in China. There, Dr. Lim gave 8 masterclasses where he worked with piano students from the School of Music. He also gave a presentation on strategies on teaching musical interpretation to students and teachers in the community. The residency concluded with a public performance at the University's Auditorium. He hopes that this residency will foster a partnership with SCUT and will encourage their students to attend UL Lafayette in future.
