Photograph of the final rehearsal during ‘String Day’ on February 29th, 2020.

Each year 120 to 140 pre-college string students join forces with the UL Symphony to present this special concert. It is an event that is eagerly awaited by many, and we are so happy that this large gathering of musicians on the stage to perform in Angelle Hall Auditorium was able to take place before social distancing measures were enacted.

‘It is likely to be some time before any of us (in the COA) can again gather with a large group of our students to present a performance or exhibition. That being said, I’m certain that the UL and Lafayette communities eagerly await the day when it will be safe to attend our performances. I know that it will bring me greater joy than ever to take the stage and perform with our students.’

- Michael Blaney, conductor, UL Symphony
