About Us
The College of the Arts is unique among Louisiana schools in that it is the center for all the artistic endeavors and education on campus — performing, visual and design. The Department of Visual Arts, the School of Music and Performing Arts, and the School of Architecture and Design offer a wide range of degrees and concentrations.
For students with creative and artistic abilities, UL Lafayette’s College of the Arts offers a solid foundation for your professional future. We are located in the heart of Acadiana, where Cajun and Creole culture offers an engaging environment, with access to a dynamic regional network of professional connections in the creative fields.
Our diverse program offerings and emphasis on interdisciplinary work are coupled with a supportive and accomplished faculty, an attractive student-to-teacher ratio and the opportunity to develop your personal vision in an environment with hands-on access to the latest technology, from computer animation and design to a complete 32-track digital recording studio. You'll work with some of the most esteemed faculty in the region to design, create, and perform individual work and collaborative pieces.
With over 900 undergraduate and graduate students and 80 full-time faculty members, we are passionate about cultivating young artists and equipping you with the skills and knowledge to compete in the professional world while striving to serve the community by creating exceptional art — and sharing it with our peers and the public.
