Dr. Allison Leigh (SLEMCO/LEQSF Regents Endowed Professor in Art & Architecture and Assistant Professor of Art History) gave two research presentations over the course of the fall and early spring semesters. The first, a talk entitled “Between Father and Son: Karl Briullov and the Constitution of 19th-Century Masculinity,” was delivered during a panel exploring “Russian Masculinities in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Century” at the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) annual convention in San Francisco (November 2019). During this conference, Dr. Leigh also chaired the panel “Digital Art Histories: Opportunities and Challenges.”

Then in mid-January of 2020, Dr. Leigh presented a new research talk entitled “Portraits of Greatness: Images of Churchill” during a symposium devoted to “Churchill in Conflict and Culture” which was organized by the National World War II Museum and the Hilliard University Art Museum.
