Loyola University Mounts Exhibition of Print Collaborations from The Department of Visual Arts Marais Press.

“Marais Press: 16 Years of Collaborations” will be an exhibition of 50 selected prints and collaborative projects that have been completed at Marais Press under the direction of Professor Brian Kelly during the last 16 years. The exhibit will be at the Diboll Gallery on the campus of Loyola University in New Orleans and will open in November and run through February of 2017.

Marais Press mission is to raise funds to support visiting printmakers/artists and student art scholarships through the sales of prints, to encourage the experimentation, and foster artist/student collaborations in the printmaking medium within an atmosphere that is free from the pressures of a commercial atelier and to affect students and the public through contact with professional artists.

Each year two to four artists are invited to Marais Press for the production of print editions. During their time at Marais Press, the artists collaborate with the printmaking students in the Department of Visual Arts in the production of printed editions and present printmaking demonstrations and/or lectures for the faculty and students in the department, University, and the general public. Since 1999, Marais Press has collaborated with more then 200 artists, published 100 editions, involved more then 100 departmental students in printmaking projects and helped launch the Departments’ Pat Terry and Marais Press Endowed Student Scholarship.
