Artech Fusion 2020

The UL College of the Arts’s presents ArTech Fusion, Friday, March 20, 2020, at the Acadiana Center for the Arts from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Our 8^th Annual ArTech will feature performances and talks that highlight the dynamic relationship between the arts and technology, through the use of creative collaboration. Premiere performances and lectures will feature video, dance, animations, and music. Additionally, The College of the Arts will honor and award the SPARK Lifetime Achievement Award to the late Professor Allan Jones of the UL Lafayette, Department of Visual Arts.

Allan Jones first came to UL Lafayette in 1965 and retired in the spring of 2017.  With almost 40 years of service, Professor Jones served as a role model for departmental faculty and students through his dedication to the creative process, teaching practices, and our shared responsibilities to our students, faculty, college and the university.  Under his direction students thrived and have continued to excel in advanced degree programs throughout the United States. He understood that good teaching is an extension of an active professional life. He pursued his artistic vision without compromising his commitment, dedication and continuing success in his teaching and service to the University.  Prof. Jones will join the ranks of our previous honorees; A. Hays Town, Elmore Morgan Jr., Joe Stewart, George Rodrigue, Keith Sonnier, Dicky Landry, Eddie Cazayoux, Herman Mhire, Raymond Goodrich and others.

ArTech Fusion is the central event of the Festival of the Arts, a three-week celebration of the innovative, creative work by faculty, students, and community partners at UL Lafayette and in the local community. The festival will run March 2 - 21st at various locations on campus and around Lafayette.
