Karen McKinney, Adjunct Instructor of Architecture Contributes to ‘Tree Campus USA’ Recognition

Adjunct Instructor Karen McKinney’s students participated in the ULL Arbor Day celebration.  They were her UNIV 100 sections 025 and H06 "Design Redefined" themed classes. The project included the new plantings along Girard Park Drive, between Fletcher Hall and the parking garage, and in the plant bed along Lewis Street. The trees were donated by Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, Robert McKinney and Karen McKinney.

“I am very pleased to announce the UL has been designated TREE CAMPUS USA for the 11th year in a row. I would like to send out a special thanks to Gretchen and Monica for their help with the application and assisting with tree plantings such as tree for Threes event. I would like to thank Karen McKinney and her students that made Arbor day such a success. Thanks to Sarah Scheoffler and the Girl scouts that contributed with the service learning project near the Alumni house bridge garden. Thanks to all who help me care for the trees and keep a close eye on the trees around campus.”
