The College of the Arts at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is pleased to announce a new cycle of the ArTech and Collaborative Grants Program. This faculty grant program is intended to support research and creative activity through collaboration and/or investigations into the overlap of technologies and the arts.
UL Lafayette College of the Arts invites faculty members in the three schools/departments to apply for Artech and Collaborative Grants.
ArTech Grants will help support individuals who are pursuing innovative research in the arts, design, and performance that is combined or assisted by technological resources. Proposed projects must culminate in a public product (ex. exhibition or lecture) or a performance by the grant deadline. Grantees are required to present their creative research and project outcomes during the Annual Festival of the Arts or during ArTech Fusion.
ArTech Fusion is a program in the College of the Arts that promotes and highlights the dynamic relationships between the Arts and Technology. Based on the ideas of ‘STEM to STEAM’ (http://stemtosteam.org/) we recognize the transformative innovation potential when Art and Design are integrated with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. This will be our sixth ArTech Fusion at the Acadian Center for the Arts. ArTech Fusion is a celebration of the innovative creative work by faculty, students and community partners, fostered by digital resources at UL Lafayette and in our local community.
ArTech Fusion 21 will be Friday March 15, 2021.
Grants will be awarded between $500-$2000.
Only completed applications (including signatures) will be considered. Completed applications must be received in the Office of the Dean, Fletcher Hall 204, by October 5, 2020. Awards will be announced by the end of October. Projects must be completed by the end of Spring Semester 2021 unless a different deadline is approved.
Funding from an ArTech Grant must be used to cover expenses such as materials, equipment. technological services, production costs, publicity, and other similar expenses. Travel expenses are subject to prior approval. Honoraria will not be funded; however, faculty members are encouraged to apply for additional support from other sources.
The SPARK Collaborative Grant applications are due to the Dean’s office on the same date: October 5, 2020. The Collaborative Grants are awarded to cross-disciplinary and collaborative proposals and are awarded up to a maximum amount of $4,000.
