Fletcher Hall Gallery seeks artists for it's 2nd Annual 12 x 12 Exhibition

The UL Lafayette College of the Arts, Fletcher Hall Gallery will be hosting the 2023 -  12” x 12” Spark Exhibition and Auction. This community art exhibition and online auction showcase 12” x 12” artworks (or smaller) from artists in the greater acadiana region along with UL alums, staff, and faculty. The exhibition helps raise funds for the college’s SPARK Annual Fund. The SPARK fund is committed to funding facets of college and student development that help to make the College of the Arts a vibrant and thriving community. This annual fund helps support the Dean’s Scholars program, student organizational support and the Fletcher Hall Gallery.

Exhibition Information
12 x 12 SPARK Exhibition & Fundraiser will run from September 4 – September 29, 2023.

All works will be made available to purchase online unless designated otherwise. Bids for each piece will start at $200. Collectors who fear losing a piece of art in the auction may utilize the “Buy It Now” option to trump the online auction. The College of the Arts will retain 50% commission on any artwork sold in the 12 x 12 SPARK Exhibition, unless the artist donates their 50% to the COA, in which case, COA retains 100% of the sales. Works not sold will be returned to artists.

The Artists and Designers
Artists and Designers may apply to by simply filling out the online form below and by reviewing the Artwork Guidelines below. We would like to make this exhibition as open as possible to our creative community no matter what field you come from or connection to the university. Please feel free to share with colleagues or fellow alums.

Artwork Guidelines
• For 12 x 12 exhibition, each artist must create a work or multiple works that conforms to the dimensions of twelve-by-twelve inches.
• Two-dimensional artwork must be roughly 12.0” high x 12.0” wide – no bigger, no more than 12.0” deep.  Works can be smaller and do not have to be square.
• Three-dimensional work will be exhibited on a podium or shelf and should not be any larger then 12” x 12” x 12”.
• Work does not need to be formally framed. Framed works can exceed the 12” x 12” limitations slightly.
• All media will be accepted.
• Artist can submit up to three pieces for the exhibition free of charge.

Artist Calendar
August 25 – Deadline to fill out online form.
September 1 – Deadline to receive work.
September 4 – Exhibition opens to the public and online auction.
September 29 – Artist Reception along with the closing of the online auction.
